What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sinβ because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

Moving right along …
Sonia Sotomayor has been sworn in as the Supreme Court’s first Hispanic justice. She’s only the third female justice in the court’s 220-year history.
Sotomayor took the second of two oaths of office Saturday from Chief Justice John Roberts in an ornate conference room at the high court, beneath a portrait of the legendary Chief Justice John Marshall. She swore a first oath in a private ceremony minutes earlier.
Sotomayor’s mother, brother, other relatives and friends joined her for the occasion.
In one oath, she promised to support and defend the Constitution. In the second, she pledged to “administer justice” fairly and impartially.
I’m proud of Sonia, and I’m totally inspired by her story; finally, a dream achieved. It is my hope that she will faithfully uphold the law of the land.
Tonight I went ahead and finally decides to do my laundry. As many will attest to, self preservation is man’s greatest challenge.
I finished loading my jeans and shorts into a Triple Loader washer at the local laundromat. As I looked up, what do I see? Two empty detergent caps lay on top of the washer. Blue and pink, the colors of Flickr! I hadn’t noticed them at all.
I think Flickr detergent would smell awesome.
I’ve had some pretty grey days this past week. Watching the thunderstorm pass by my area, the inner feeling says to me, “I don’t want to be here. I yearn for sunny days, no more storms!”
Yet, it is the rain that these storms produce that water our living plants. Once the storm passes, the blossoms are stronger and more vivid than before.
I have to learn to weather the storms.
